FAQs

FAQs

1. Are my results confidential? Yes.  We respect your privacy and maintain confidentiality. You are the only one who receives the results through the lab's secure online portal. Not even your insurance company will obtain results from Bloodwork.US and/or its partners or associates without written consent from you. Except when compelled by law, you are the only one with access to your results

2. Will I get my results via email? Due to HIPAA federal privacy policies, results are not emailed. However, an email will be sent to you notifying you that your results have been uploaded to your secure online account.

3. Will Medicare reimburse me? Direct Access Testing is not reimbursable by Medicare.

4. Is this covered by insurance? Bloodwork.US does not file insurance claims. We can provide you with CPT codes so that you may file for reimbursement yourself. Bloodwork.US cannot guarantee that your claim will be reimbursed, and further advise that it most often will not be reimbursed. Contact your insurance provider for your benefits and reimbursement options.

5. Do I need to see my healthcare provider to get tested? Direct access testing allows greater participation in one's own healthcare. Your healthcare provider can refer you to Bloodwork.US, but it’s not a requirement. However, you will be asked to provide the specific name of the test(s) you wish to order. Bloodwork.US is not allowed to make any test recommendations. You can feel secure that Bloodwork.US uses the same labs as healthcare providers and hospitals, which are CLIA-certified and regulated by appropriate governmental agencies.

6. I’m concerned about my results or have questions about what my results show. What should I do? If you are concerned about something you learned from your results, you should contact your healthcare provider.

7. What should I do if I can’t find the test I’m looking for? If there is a test you are interested in but cannot find on the website, please email us at help@Bloodwork.US.  In most cases, we can arrange for individual tests to be added to our offerings within 1-2 business days.

8. How long does it take to get my results? Most tests take 1-2 days to complete, though some can take up to 6-7 days or more.  Tests ordered and drawn together are resulted and posted to your secure portal account all together in one go when the final/slowest of the results is reported to us.
